 7th district – Neubau

The seventh municipal district of Vienna, called "Neubau", is Vienna's shopping district. Here you will not only find Austria's biggest shopping street, Mariahilferstraße, but also plenty national as well as internation designer shops. Moreover, you can enjoy various bars, restaurants and cafes. 

The Neubaugasse, also within comfortable walking distance, is another well-known shopping mile. Characterized by plenty small shop, bars and restaurants Viennese love this street.  Twice a year a flea market takes place along the the whole street.

Culture

• The Hofmobiliendepot with its 165.000 exhibits is one of the world's largest furniture collection. The exhibition consists of the Imperial furniture, as well as plenty different furnishing styles such as Biedermeier, Historicism, Viennese modern up to contemporary furnishing designs.

• The MuseumsQuartier Wien is one of the largest art and culture complexes in the world. Moreover, many courtyards, cafes and shops within the complex create an oasis of tranquillity and recovery in the middle of the city. 

• The Wiener Stadthalle is Austrias largest multi purpose indoor arena and event center and one of Europe's leading event location. The complex houses six venues and an adjacent swimming pool.

• Haus des Meeres is a public aquarium  which is located in a former Flak Tower, built in WW 2, in Esterházypark. It houses over 10.000 aquatic animals on an area of 5.000 square meters.

Spittelberg, also known as  „Village within the city“ is Viennas second largest pedestrian street, with its idyllic places, picturesque facades and romantic cobbled alleys its one of the places you have to visit. Plenty restaurants with lovely gardens are perfect for lunch as well as dinner.
